Hello, I'm working on hooking up modems to several local schools with Apple II's of unknown type (//e, II+, gs, etc). and was looking for a good communications program for the light of budget. Shareware or Public domain is preferred. Can anyone suggest such a package and where to get it? I have ftp access, but I'm kindof new to appleII's, so if anyone could give me a brief rundown of how to download files from those sites and get them in apple readable format, I'd appreciate it. I have access to unix boxes, macs, and an Apple // with kermit (surely there is something better?). I am used to ftp'ing things for the mac, so I'm not an ftp-illiterate, I just don't know what the moral equivalent to .sit.hqx is. It looks to be .shk and something else, but I'm not sure exactly what the process is to get the apple files out of that format. Thanks, Vaughan -- VaughAn Turner Internet: vturner@nmsu.edu Networking/Workstation Support Box 30001, Dept. 3AT Computer Center, Networking/WSC Las Cruces, New Mexico New Mexico State University 88003-0001 Bitnet: vturner@nmsu UUCP: ucbvax!nmsu.edu!vturner Work: (505) 646-4244 FAX: (505) 646-5278 Home: (505) 522-3653 Home Address: 1115 Larry Drive Las Cruces, New Mexico 88001-5457 "...the first rule of engineering [is] to work with Earth's natural forces, never against them."
