What's really holding LHG up is the fact that it was originally derived from a GIF file parser I wrote for research purposes, and I need to restructure it a bit to eliminate four big problems which disqualify it for public release. (I have high standards for my software -- sniff.) 1. memory hog -- both GIF file and 8 bit image required in memory 2. only 1 display mode (320, 1 palette) is currently supported 3. color converter is too @#^$&#*! slow (but it works amazingly well) 4. no desktop interface, only shell arguments and finder icons I realized something last night that will enable me to fix the memory usage a lot more quickly than I originally thought. I'm beginning to get the hang of the code Genesys cranked out when I tried making a sample set of menus with it, so things are starting to come together. I'm not going to promise a release date (that'd be stupid), I'm just going to have to ask everybody (especially Unknown) to realize that I'm a college junior who can barely afford the school he's in.
