Does anyone know how I can take a date string and compute the next and previous months? I want to take Feb. 24, 1991 and produce Mar. 24, 1991 and similarly, PrevMonth("Jan. 12, 1991") gives "Dec. 12, 1990" Any clues for doing this? Also, I noticed that one can turn a date into a number, a number into a date, a date into the year number, a date into the day number, and a date into a month STRING. How about a way to get a month number from a date string and a date string from a day, month, year number triple? That way, NextMonth and PrevMonth would be easy to fake... Would anyone know how I can get the interest and principal breakdown of a monthly payment on a loan? I can compute the amount of the payment, but I'm interested in how to get that breakdown. I'm sure some of this is in the manual (the nextmonth and prevmonth things aren't), but since I'm no financial type, I can't figure out how to use the available functions to compute what I want. I'm trying to make a loan payment schedule template, and I want to have in each column the payment number, the payment due date (same day number of each month), the remaining principal, the interest this month, this month's payment, the interest payment portion, the principal payment portion, the total interest paid so far. How's *that* for a break from the regular rumors?
