[comp.sys.apple2] AE Vulcan Question

kjs39186@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Kent Squires) (04/02/91)

I've got a 40MB //e Vulcan and was wondering if I could backup a 32MB
partition (which has less than 10MB of data) and then restore it to a 20MB
partition. Is this possible to do using the Backup program from ProSel?

On the subject of the Vulcan, I have about a total of 10-12 bad blocks on
mine and was wondering if anybody had a program that would actually repair
these.

With regard to the backup question, the answer is yes... ProSel will allow
you to select the drive/partition to which the backup is to be restored; it
need not be the same drive/partition which was backed up...

A warning though... if the backedup/restored drive/partition was running
under ProSel, you'll have to go in and redo all of your menus to align
the paths to the new partition. (I go through this about once a quarter
when I realign everything on a stupid whim)

as far as the bad block question goes I cannot help you there.
