Sure Apple did give support....But when was the last new card put out by Apple? The DMA SCSI? Ok, how about anything else? Speed up? Sound digitizing? The GS was not the highest seller, the PC's were.... How about that really nice support with Dragon Wars GS? Wouldn't let them release Tool35 for the sound...Real nice, they really encourage software development....Support, Ha!

I have not had a chance to read all the messages here (I had 800 unread messages), but I have to say something about support for the Apple II: While the ultimate decision lies in California, other decisions must be made by _us_; that is, those of us who can program... My family's first computer was a Franklin 1000 which we have since upgraded to a IIgs. I am a part time programmer (does the word "hobbyist" exist anymore... haven't heard it lately...) and plan to fully support the Apple II. I write Apple II programs (although I am concentrating on Macintosh) and I have someone else who is also writing for the II. If a lot of software companies produce usable, decent products for the II, and because of that software, people keep on buying the II, Apple logically should continue to support it. (Of course, no one ever said Apple is logical)...
