[comp.sys.apple2] Apple IIe Workstation Card

sb@pnet91.cts.com (Stephen Brown) (04/17/91)

I am looking for information on the Apple IIe Workstation Card.

I have "Inside AppleTalk", "AppleTalk Network System Overview", "AppleShare
Programmer's Guide To Apple IIGS", "AppleShare Programmer's Guide For Apple
II", the "Apple II Technical Notes 1985 - 1988", Apple II Technical Notes
1989... and I can find VIRTUALLY NOTHING on the card.

What am I looking for? Well, I'd like a pinout of the two ports on the card to
start. They're 12 pin headers. (I inherited a card without software or
connectors) Secondly, any information at all to do with accessing the beast.

So far, I've had it for several months, and I haven't even plugged it into my
IIe. Any info (particularly on the pinouts or instructions to build a 12-pin
header to whatever it connects to) would be appreciated.

There is a "back panel adapter box" that connects to the two 12-pin headers
and has a LocalTalk port and a Printer port. The card allows you access to
printers, fileservers, etc. on the network. The part number for the adaptor
box is 607-5010. The manuals (030-3115 & 030-1484) don't give any pin-outs
for the headers. There is software that comes with it "AppleShare II
Workstation Installer (683-5096). Maybe with the part numbers, a dealer
can get replacement parts for you.
