I need a new head for my old Apple Disk ][ drive (Shugart mechanism, I
believe). It's the type that slides on two round steel rails. The local Apple
dealer wants $120 to replace the whole mechanism, which is ridiculous since I
can get a whole new drive for less than that. However, I've developed
something of a sentimental attachment to this one anyway.
If you know of a mail order company that sells these things, or happen to have
an extra one lying around, please let me know. Thanks!
