Howdy! I need to get a hold of the Mac program that converts mac files to Apple II prodos files. Anyone? Thanks... Ken Morton "A vacant engineer rides on a v097pba8@ubvms.Bitnet train of thought that will not v097pba8@ubvmsd.cc.buffalo.edu lead him home" - Edie Brickell

If you have a Mac, you should have the Apple File Exchange program that translate PRODos <-> Mac. The PRODos files must be on 3.5" disks

Ever try to move GIF files from ProDos to Mac (the other way too) and have it come out right? Default translation just don't work! If you are translating anything other than a standard text file, you have to change default values under the ProDos->Mac menu to "neither" for every- thing. That way the program doesn't try to interpret odd-ball values as control characters. Bob Beason beason@geneseo.bitnet

I do that at least once a week (both ways) and it always works... unless the file is bad in the first place. You -might- need to strip off the header when moving from mac to prodos. Someone posted that to Apple2-L not too long ago. I downloaded it, but I haven't had any need for it yet. If you want, I can send it to you. > Andy Kress > PYC121 AT URIACC.URI.EDU > Apple II: The power to take over the world! ---------------------------------------- BITNET-- mquinn@utcvm <------------send files here pro-line-- mquinn@pro-gsplus.cts.com

I have translated all sorts of files including GIFs with no difficulty using Apple File Exchange and the Default translation option. The binary files do not translate well using the Text Mode translation. Skip -- | F. H. Schiffer 3rd | | | schiffer@stsci.edu | I speak for myself alone. | | scivax::schiffer | |
