Has anyone figured out how to patch the Software Toolworks Chessmaster 2100 to work under GSOS v5.0.4 to be loaded onto a harddisk. I assume it's still the best GS chess program around, but it is quite slow to crank up a 'quick' game of chess from 3-1/2 inch floppies. My calls to the company indicate that the current version is v1.1, and that they won't support the latest GS O/S. Oh well! Tnx. - Frank. ---- ProLine: fsantore@pro-nsdapple Internet: fsantore@pro-nsdapple UUCP: crash!pro-nsdapple!fsantore ARPA: crash!pro-nsdapple!fsantore@nosc.mil

I successfully launch it from Prosel 16. To make sure that it doesn't hang, I first launch basic, exit back to prosel and then launch Chessmaster 2100. __________________________________________________________ | | | Alan H. I don't suppose these patches can be made available on an FTP site or through comp.binaries.apple2? Speaking of Chessmaster 2100.... I had MicroCenter add memory to my GS Woz edition,ROM 01 to 768K I believe. I say this because when I go to the control panel it says I have 1024k in Ram. Never have actually looked at it. Anyway, ever since Chessmaster will not run. I get the first screen, the carriage and banner, the disk flips and flops a few times and I guess gives up, but I never have the Chessmaster ask me "if I want to play". all other programs work fine except this one.
