Hi all, I've got a question regarding the slots in the GS. I feel I probably knew this once, but I find that as I get older (I'm now 23) I forget more and more of this kind of stuff... I currently have a ROM 01 GS with a duodisk connected to my 3.5", a Sider plugged into slot 7, memory port filled, an imagewriter in the printer port, a modem in the modem port, and a SuperSonic stereo card in slot 1 (just sucking power, I guess). I want to get a Zip card and (maybe) a PC Transporter. Where would I plug the new things in? Isn't there a problem with using slots when the corresponding ports are already in use? Would I run into such problems? A somewhat unrelated question: I have a GS-Ram filled to 1.5MB capacity. I want to put a piggyback card on for expansion. I haven't seen such things in the mail-order ads for a while, and I'm wondering if they're still available (I plan to call AE, but I thought, while I was writing...) Lastly, how do those of you with Zip accelerators in GS's (GSes?) like them? What kind of speed increase do you see with, say, 7mhz and 8k cache? How about from 7 to 9 or 10? Or at 7mhz but a 16k cache? Just wondering how much I want to spend on this sucker... Thanks for your time, Bill WRDJ@CRNLVAX5.BITNET BILL_DICKSON@QMRELAY.MAIL.CORNELL.EDU (Don't send anything too big to this address, ' oops, cuz I won't get it all!)
