I have been playing around with Transprog, an application linker/init/thingy from a French group. Last night, I was transferring between applications by selecting different applications from the 'rhomb' menu, and things seemed to be working well. Then for some reason I opened the Control Panel NDA, and I received the message 'Not enough memory to open Control Panel, Please try closing some windows.' I found this strange, since I now have 2.25 megs of RAM, so I pressed OA-Ctrl-Esc to see the status of my ramdisk. It turns out that my GS thought that I had 9854k of RAM and 94xxk of it was in use!!! When I played around with the ramdisk settings, it froze. I did a four-fingered salute (self-test) and everything was fine. I haven't yet reproduced this problem, but I thought it was rather strange. Has anyone else out there played around with TransProg much? I'm also enjoying the new Transwarp GS Setup Cdev and Font-DA Installer that are included on the Transprog disk. The TWGS Cdev has many settings, including default and current speed settings, cache purging, etc. The Font- DA mover acts just about like the Macintosh-based mover: Loads or removes any NDA, CDA, or Font (only if the Font Manager is active, of course). It even works with DA's that have Resource forks (unlike the current Carpet Bag NDA). This disk is currently available in the uploads directories of tybalt.caltech.edu and apple2.archive.umich.edu. Any help on the above question would be greatly appreciated. -Dale prophet@oxy.edu P.S. What's the deal with the influx of French software these days? Or is it finally just filtering down to us from the pay services?
