From MQUINN@UTCVM.BITNET: > I move that we start using .BNS for 'binscii/shrinkit' files considering > that .BSQ was a popular subfix for Binary II squeezed files. As far as the files I find on FTP sites like tybalt, the .bsq extension means ShrinkIt+Binscii. I've never actually seen *just* a SQueezed file (Binary II, yes, but not SQZ'd). I'm quite happy with =.bsq for ShrinkIt+Binscii, =.bxy for ShrinkIt+BinaryII and =.shk for just plain NuFX archives. Someone proposed =.sdk from shrunk disks, but it doesn't look like that caught on (it wouldn't work if someone mixed files and disks in the same archive, for instance). -- Brian T. Correct... > I've never actually seen *just* a SQueezed file OK... Actually, that was SQ3 I -think-. I haven't seen many of those. >(Binary II, yes, but not SQZ'd). I used to get lots & lots of Binary II + squeezed files all the time. Their extension was .BSQ. >I'm quit happy with =.bsq for ShrinkIt+Binscii, I'm sure you would be if you don't ever come accross the old .bsq files, but the new .bsq conflicts with the original .bsq. I don't think it's that big of a deal, really, but thought it would be a good suggestion. >Brian T.
