I've got a SCSI hard drive that worked fine on the Mac SE. When I hook it up to my HiSpeed Apple SCSI card, the software (partition,.lowlevel format, everything...) won't recognize the card. Does anyone recognize this problem? How can I get the damn software to find the card long enough to format it? p.s. before you ask, I've got an external terminator on the drive... the same as with the Mac setup, where it worked just fine. Please respond, e-mail or posting, it doesn't matter which. -- Eric Hsu ehsu@husc4.Bitnet, ehsu@husc9.harvard.edu

When I had trouble with my Rodime drive I used Silverlining on a Mac to reformat it. I think I left the partitioning to the Apple II GS utilities that came with the card. The CMS card I had previously hard partitioned the drive, so this was automatic, although I lost accessto the top two partitions (about a third of the drive). Try reformatting on the Mac without partitions or anything else and see what happens with the GS. Make sure the drivers are already installed in your system folder. How old is the drive?
