I recently got a copy of Agate 0.69 from a local BBS since it has Ymodem and Zmodem capabilities. I'm trying to get it to work with our local Unix (Ultrix actually) box using the program "sb" and "sz". Kermit 3.87 works fine, but I'm tired of using it, since it's kinda slow. I tried normal "sb *" and "sz *" but that doesn't seem to work with Agate when the files I send are binary. It works fine, if I try to send text files. I try also the "-b" override switch, but same results. I tried also using a program called Zlink, which specifically mentions the Unix program "sb" in its documentation, but it still doesn't work with our local Unix "sb" program. THere is nothing "between" my modem and the Unix box - no switch or whatever that interferes. Connection is 8 data/1 stop/no parity as usual. So...anyway, I'm hoping someone can help me. If anyone can tell me which "switches" to throw using "sb" or "sz" or the proper settings that I should use on my GS side, I'd appreciate it. Setup: ROM1, CTS Fabritek 2424ADH (as per ProTerm config), Port 2 using cable. Thanks a lot. Paul ccrovac@aggie.ucdavis.edu

Are you using telnet to access your UNIX box from the terminal server? Telnet will _not_ work. Use rlogin instead. (I learned this the hard way when trying to d/l files from the machines here at UNLV; the ones I'd used elsewhere behaved differently.)
