My brother-in-law just got a Vulcan hard drive for his GS, and has run into a
problem installing some game software. The problem is that the drive gets only
part way through the boot procedure, then hangs. He thinks it may be a bad icon
in the icon folder causing it. How can he either reinitialize the drive or
remove the offending icon (or whatever) without getting stuck in the boot
procedure?

If it is an icon problem, it should say that it is a fatal error due to a
corrupt icon.
