It has been demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I
am not very smart. I have tried to upload this and the next
missive a number of times. In the Messy DOS world, a carriage
(ctrl-M) is not enough; a line feed (ctrl-J) is also required.
Also because of my lack ... learning a new board takes time.
To all who have suffered my stupidity, I apologize; however,
now you are stuck with my ... Oh Well! Life goes on!

Chris Moylan:
]Apple //gs Diagnostic programs? Where did you pick these
]up? I need some because I get scattered GS errors, and
]sometimes I think there's something wrong with my hardware,
]I do have a lot of stuff inside it! :)
I gave a demonstration of "Managing Your Money" to SMAUG (?)
in southern Maine. Someone there was giving out the disk. The
leader of the group is a straight i.e. honest, fellow so I
assumed that the disk is legal. It will test every Apple I have:
from a IIe/c to my ROM 3. Unless I hear otherwise from one of
the people whose signature indicates that they work for I DON'T
CARE; I DON'T HAVE TO - I'M APPLE COMPUTER Inc., I'll send you a
copy. Send me a 3.5 disk and a stamped return mailer; WAIT TWO
WEEKS, so that I can hear whether it is not legal from one of
those same fellows.
To those same fellows: from your replies to questions on
this net, it is orotund (though not pompous) that you do care; it
would appear from the outside that only the asshole who runs the
place DOES NOT CARE!!
Back to Chris - There is also a share ware program by Mike
Coffey called YOYO DUCK. Mike said the explanation of the name
is a long story and would not waste my time giving it to me over
the phone. It is on 5.25 disks. When I transferred it to a 3.5,
I had some trouble. The controller program is in Basic so could
be altered for 3.5 disks; I haven't bothered. I could also put
it on the disk. PAY YOUR SHARE WARE FEE!!!!! or leave a message
that you do not want it!!!

Robert Dull:
]Does anybody have the address of TML Systems? Are they
]still in existence? Thanks

TML was sold to:

     Complete Tech Inc.
     2443 S. CO Blvd. Suite 221
     Denver, CO 80222
     303=758-0920

The fellow there said that they have a new Pascal and are working
on a new basic; wouldn't you know - I want the new Basic.

For Sale:
My daughter wants a gs; thus, she has for sale her IIc+. It
is in excellent condition. She has a mouse for it if you would
like one and also a joy stick. The usual AppleWorks and others.
She has a number of different monitors that you could choose
from. She needs another $350 for a used gs;make her an offer.

---------------------*******************---------------------

I have a ROM 3; within is a PCT (s4; I hate mice and avoid
them at all times - only if forced to use it do I consider doing
so - I'd rather rewrite the code), an AST RamStakPlus (does
everything from AST have a `Plus' of a `+'? I'd rather the world
were run by engineers than marketers) and a RamFast(s7) for my
HD. My monitor does not sit atop the gs; it is on a platform I
have built for it and my printer. The hottest items in the gs
are the RAM card and the power supply; I could incubate an egg -
not cook it. I also have ZipGS(s2).
I occasionally get crashes into the monitor. These come
only after I have used a P8 program (95% of the time & Apple
Writer 95% of that) and then switch into a GSOS program like
ShrinkitGS or somesuch. I also have gotten a few of the infamous
$0308s; I know that the $0308s have nothing to do with heat as
they could happen as I turn on the system or later after warming.
Testing with the afore mentioned Diagnostic disk, I always get a
`bad serial crystal' (ZipGS s2???); the disk program occasionally
will crash into the monitor when going from ROM to IOU/MMU or
from IOU/MMU to RAM tests. The disk never crashs when going from
RAM to Aux RAM (they call it Apple) or at any other times.
As I said in an earlier post, I HAVE NO LOCAL DEALER to
screw things up; I'M ON MY OWN!!! Any help would be
appreciated!!!

Surely, the question will be asked: If all you do is Apple
Writer, WHY BOTHER WITH A ZIP? Well, using a 387 on spreadsheets
spoils you. Also, a Zip is nice for database work which I do
with Apple Writer. MYM is also a database program.
