Wow, someone still using AppleNET. I helped Kevin do that program about
two years ago (I think that's how long ago it was). Fun program. Did
you ever use SHK/BNY archive lister? I am not sure if it ever got put
into a final release. Kevin & I really never found a good way to do updates
besides just sending out new copies of the entire thing rather than
software patches because all the modules were interrelated.
Some guys on GEnie also did plenty of extension modules for it. There
are a few versions of AppleNET which were basically redone by someone
else but still under Kevin's name. Too bad he sold it Apple IIgs and stopped
programming for it, he won some sort of programming contest with AppleNET.

Does Kevin D'Haeze have an address where I can E-mail him?
Kevin was the author of the original (or "classic") AppleNet. (You
know...the one that worked BUG FREE?!)

Also...what's going on with AppleNet v1.4? I heard there was yet ANOTHER
version coming out. (MORE bugs?)

The latest Version of AppleNET I took notice of was v1.4b.
It looks like a modified version of a running BBS - EAGLES EYES EMPORIUM III,
by Derek Fong. I think there's not much left what you can reorganize for own
purposes.
I'm still running my BBS based on v1.3 - and it's getting more bug free every
day ... :-)

Kevin is attending some university in southern michigan. I have spoken to
him voice a few times in the last year and he has said nothing about an
e-mail address. He may have one now but I don't know about it.

Any versions of Applenet past 1.1c (I think it is 'c', maybe a little later or
sooner) are not from Kevin. He sold his IIgs about 2 years ago and stopped
programming the IIgs. I have no idea who is working on AppleNet now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Kevin can be reached on AOL.
I ran an ANET system for over a year. I enjoyed it but it was time to move
up. I chose Pro-Line. I couldn't be happier. This system is just great.
AppleNet is moving toward creating a networking module but the last word I
had was that it was a year away. You can e-mail me or post and I'll try to
field any questions you may have.

I have a version 1.3 and it claims to be made by Kevin...I believe it too.
I know Larry Edwards did 1.3e, 1.3f, and 1.4. They're up to 1.4b now right?
I hear the "b" stands for "buggy" and "bad". I continue to use 1.3 because
it's 99% bug free. I have also adapted it SIGNIFICANTLY adding things such
as named security levels, a feature that lets people know when someone tries
to guess your password, and much more. I also activated (or replaced in
some cases) the not-available features.

If you, or anyone, can get an E-mail address for Kevin D'Haeze I'd
appreciate it. If I can't get one a current mailing address would be nice.

This information is incorrect!!!

Eagle Eyes Emporium (514 337 8844) and AppleSauce BBS (514 923 3534)
network with Applenet 1.4!

They created the software so therefore it exists!
