[comp.sys.apple2] Apple II Sampling

$CSB205@LSUVM.BITNET (Mark Orr) (06/18/91)

On the subject of sound....

Does anyone know anything about this Digicorder thingy I keep seeing
advertized from Zuhyde?

I know it's supposed to do sampling on an ordinary Apple II and output
to the internal speaker. What's the deal here?

-----

Does anyone remember the program Halleys Project? It had a very
impressive (and loud) sample at the startup screen.

I've enver heard of DigiCorder, but there is an old program called
Double Talk for the // which does exactly that. It's fairly nice, even
though the output is shoddy (but what do you expect from a 1MHz machine?).

I have a copy of that program - the first time I heard the startup, I just
sat there with my mouth hanging open. I didn't know you could get that sort
of sound from the //, contrary to what I just said above..

"Delta one-niner, mayday, we are lost behind Jupiter!"
"Roger, this is delta one-niner, we have you on radar and are go for
hyperspace!" (Cool guitar solo)...

Granted, the words don't make any sense (if he's lost, but he knows he's
behind Jupiter, then he can't really be lost, can he? And 'behind' Jupiter
is an awfully relative statement).. but it sounds great!
