[comp.sys.apple2] How to Fix a Apple // + keyboard

I have a rampant keyboard that is giving repeat characters such as
this   if you hit a key it sometimes does nothing and sometimes it
gives you 2 or 3 letters for that one stroke.

Is there something I can try to fix this or is it a total loss?
