I want to buy a hard drive for my IIGS and I need to know if any SCSI drive can be plugged into any SCSI controller with appropriate cabling or if driver software is required for certain drives. Specifically, I might buy a Quantum 52MB drive. Has anyone had any experience with a Quantum on a IIGS? Thanks, Rocky Giovinazzo giovin@medr0.ecs.umass.edu giovin@risky.ecs.umass.edu

From Rocky J Giovinazzo: > Specifically, I might buy a Quantum 52MB drive. Has anyone had any > experience with a Quantum on a IIGS? I have a Quantum 105 with a RAMFast on a ROM 01 GS. This thing is a dream to use! The built-in formatting software on the RAMFast card was all I needed to prep the drive. DMA SCSI cards are definitely the way to go now. You can use Advanced Disk Utility with the Apple DMA card.
