[comp.text.tex] getting macpaint/fullpaint files into tex

climber@uvicctr.UVic.CA.UUCP (climber) (02/22/90)

I am looking for a way to get a picture that I did in fullpaint on
the mac into a tex file (for an illustration). Has anyone tried
this or know of an easy way it can be done?

If not, how about getting a picture from a drawing program on the Amiga?

I've been using Canvas to convert TIFF files (scanned images)
into PICT files (bitmaps). I then open the PICT file version and
capture the PostScript eqivalent (Cmd-F). This PostScript version of
the image can then be included in a LaTeX document using Trevor
Darrell's \psfig macros. I would guess your FullPaint/MacPaint images
would also work if you saved them as PICT files.
