Now is there a way by which I can compile Latex without
`using the pascal compiler? Will a pascal to C translator do the trick?
`The WEB-TO-C apparently does not make the pascal compiler superfluous.

`Does anybody know, where to get a TeX for Sun3/50, running
 `SunOS4.0.4.

The standard Unix TeX distribution from Washington State university,
Seattle, has web2c, a program to translate the pascal produced by tangle
into C. So you can install TeX without a pascal compiler.
