Hi TeX land,
I have a question, well in fact a few questions, that I hope you
people will be able to help me with.
I'm putting together a manual and using LaTeX on a VAX as the
layout package, but I've come up against the following problems
1) When I use the \part{XYZ} command I always get a blank page
between the part cover page and the first chapter of the part.
Is there a method of doing away with this extra page?
2) As part of my page style I write the text PART X at the
bottom of the page, I'd like to include the full name of
the part, but as I pinched the style file from the LaTeX
style file directory, and stabbed at it blindly to get what
I currently have, I'm not sure how to get the text for the
part name. Is there a variable that contains the current part
name? Can anyone help?
3) \footnote indents the first line, and then leaves subsequent
lines out in left field. e.g
start of footnote...........
subsequent line stuck out in left field etc...
Is there a way of telling LaTeX either not to indent, or preferably
to indent all lines so the text is a uniform block? I hope this
explains the problem, and that some one out there in net land can
help.
Any help with these questions would be appreciated,
Joe Grant
