Hello TeXperts, I am a fan of [La]TeX, and also a little TeXnician, but I have a really hard problem to submit to you, which undoubtedly has already been solved by someone. I use LaTeX to write the documentation of a rather big software system which changes rather quickly, and I would like to be able to put "change bars" in the (outside) margin to visually identify parts of the text which have changed since the last release of the documentation. Does any of you have come with a satisfying solution to this problem? I'd be happy with change bars along entire paragraphs, although I would prefer to be able to limit them to part of texts within paragraphs. I believe that solutions can be posted, since I can't imagine I'm the only one in the world being interested in that. Of course direct e-mail is fine too, as far I'm concerned. Many thanks in advance.
