I'm wondering if someone with access to the "Astronomical Journal" (circa 1973) wouldn't mind too much looking up an article by S. J. Goldstein, Jr. , J. D. Trasco, and T. J. Ogburn reporting their reevaluation of Ole Roemer's speed of light measurement. They took 40 timings of disappear- ances and reappearances of Io and fit them to predictions based on modern orbital data. Specifically, I would like to know their best fit "c" value, and most importantly, their estimation of the probable error. This article was mentioned in the "News Notes" column of the June '73 Sky & Telescope, but the specific AJ issue wasn't given. Please mail to me or post to the net. Thanks. Lew Mammel, Jr. ihuxr!lew
