My experience has shown that the white_setup trick for write-white laser
printer engines is horribly inadequate since (1) it relies on the font
using cmbase (_not_ always the case) and (2) it breaks some fonts that
do use cmbase (e.g., Sylvio Levy's Greek).
The better solution is to use a variety of mode_def's for different fonts
for use with your write-white printer. This is a long time-consuming
process, but the results are well worth it.
Incidentally, the multiple mode_def technique is useful for some write-black
printers too.
