I have been trying to get a working LaTeX setup on my PC (an XT clone with DOS 4.01, Hercules graphics, Panasonic 1124 printer). the problem is, I haven't been able to get adequate documentation for the stuff I've downloaded off anonymous ftp sites. so far, I've downloaded SB-TeX v29 (from terminator, I think), a previewer called DVIEW, and a printer driver called DVIPAN (arced in DVIEPS somewhere). the problem is; a) I don't know how to connect LaTeX with SB-TeX, if at all possible. b) DVIEW looks for fonts in directories like /PXL/480, which is not possible in DOS. however, DVIEW does run on my box. its as if the file opens are still unix-mode while the code has been compiled on a DOS box. c) DVIPAN wants different fonts than DVIEW. I would appreciate an overview of installing all these sorts of tools. also, recommendations for better programs and/or documentation would be great. thanx in retreat, -- |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| | Devon Prichard making the world safe for helicopters ... | | ae219dp@prism.gatech.edu | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
