[comp.text.tex] TeX grap?

Hi.

Is there something out there equivalent to the "grap" preprocessor for
*roff, which would work for TeX?

Thanks.

Yes. Grap produces PIC, I believe, which can be included in TeX documents
using tpic or by translating to Fig code using pic2fig.

PiCTeX is a macro package which is useful for producing graphs. Also,
GnuPlot 2.0 can produce plots in various TeX-compatible modes: LaTeX
picture environment, EEPIC, or Fig code.

However, all inclusion of graphics into TeX tends to be either restricted
(LaTeX picture env.) or non-portable (device or operating system dependent).
PiCTeX is the most general, but it tends to blow TeX's internal memory!
