I produce a tiny newsletter using TeX (2.93) and I use to set my pages in 3 or 2 columns. I use \vsplit and simple \vtop-methods for accomplish that. I have done a few experiments with \parshape ... ... but I think it's a bit awkward for my purposes. Now I will set a part of a page like this, with a picture in the center of two columns, perhaps also 2 \vrule (where I've put the |'s). How am I supposed to do? Must I necessary split both columns in two paragraphs with no \parskip or \parindent and then use \hangindent and \hangafter? Or can I use \parshape in a smart way? Or is it any other intricate way to do it? aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaaaaa | bbbbbbbbbbbbb and if it's easy :-) Can I use figures of different shapes?
