[comp.text.tex] Converting TeX fonts to PostScript

mcdonald@fornax.UUCP (Ken Mcdonald) (06/01/90)

I know nothing about TeX/LaTeX/AMS-TeX/etc., but would very much like
to have access to a PostScript version of the ComputerModern font
family for use with a Macintosh. Could anyone tell me if/where such
a thing is available, or how I might create such a PostScript family
(without prohibitive amounts of work, i.e. suggestions along the line
of "Get a PostScript editor and trace all the characters," will not be
welcome. :-) )

Thanks for any help you can provide.

P.S. please e-mail replies if possible.

Some kind soul from england left a copy of the CM fonts converted to
postscript on my machine foobar.colorado.edu in anonymous ftp file

I've not tried them out yet because I've been too busy. These were
generated via rendering at high resolution & then fitting curves to
the font. I don't know anything more about it, so please don't ask
me questions.
