On my small home system, I run a STAR LC 24-10 printer which is a extremely cheap 24wire impact printer. I'm used to it now, but it has its glitches (but what do you expect for about $500?) Anyway, it goes up to the NEC P6 standard resolution of 360x360 and does so quite well, although it takes about 2 minutes per page. And the high resolution is also rather expensive as it uses up the color in my cardridges rather fast (it goes over one line 4 times to get the full resolution). But epson offers a 48 wire printer already, which is supposed to be faster and have better output (although the IIP is definitely cheaper). In both PCMag and Byte there were some good articles on printers recently. PCMag even compared some 25 or so cheap ones, and the Editor's Choice is the IIp, altough they say `go for the III'! //konrad +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ As I'm not working for anybody, I can't be representing their opinion!
