Well, I've already started on this and should probably have a
first run-through finished by Monday, so chances are your
suggestions might not make it into this release, but I'd like to
hear them anyway. Here's what is being added already:
- MF called through CLI
- Editor interface similar to that provided by TeX
- All logical names defined in CLD file
- All graphics routines stored in a sharable library to make
adding new displays easier.
- New displays to be added: DECwindows, UIS (maybe not), ReGiS,
any other suggestions?
- Logicals MF_JOBNAME and MF_JOBSIZE set to the jobname and
resolution respectively of the MF run on exit; the names of
these logicals will be defined in the CLD file.
- MF can continue after hitting E at an error prompt if
/CONTINUE flag in CLD is set.
The following changes are slated for addition to the TeX change
file version PD VMS 3.2, slated for release with the MF change
file:
- Logical TEX_JOBNAME set to the jobname of the TeX run on
exit; the name of this logical is defined in the CLD file.
- TeX can continue after hitting E at an error prompt if
/CONTINUE flag in CLD is set.
- Improved handling of 8-bit characters: Characters in the
range x'a0-x'fe are printed only to the terminal and only if
the terminal has the Eightbit characteristic set.
