Version 2.15.4 of xtex is available for anonymous FTP from host foobar.colorado.edu (named after my dear departed pet rabbit, mind you). Foobar is internet 128.138.243.105. SeeTeX is a ``package'' of TeX previewers & output drivers including: xtex, texsun (sunview) and now tex3b1 (thanks to andy fyfe @ Caltech). If you've never snagged SeeTeX before, grab SeeTeX-2.15.4. If you've gotten SeeTeX-2.14 or later, but only want 'xtex', grab xtex-2.15.4. Things have been rearranged a little such that all files are in ~ftp/pub/SeeTeX. Additions include: + tex3b1, a TeX previewer based on 'texsun', but for the 3b1. + xtex now correctly groks -Tdvi output from ``groff,'' the free Gnu version of ditroff (thanks to Johan Widen) + xtex has punted on the ``drift'' aspect of DVI placement and now insures that all glyphs are laid down within 0.5 pixels of where they should be. + Finally, an installation manual, of sorts. You can pick up the installation manaul as pub/SeeTeX/Install.ps if you like. It documents the more obscure details of building and installing X versions of TeX fonts, as well the ``fontdesc'' file. If anyone who has installed seetex/xtex in the past reads this & wants to make comments, please send me diffs. I get altogether too much mail with questions concerning X fonts.
