I am converting from troff to tex and feel need for something like pic to use under LaTeX. Does there exists such a tool, and how can I obtain it? Using xfig is not an option, as I like the objects in my pictures to allign exactly. Thanks in advance, Jan Rekers (rekers@cwi.nl) Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science P.O. It used to be that you needed to get an AT&T version of 'pic' and
apply a special set of patches, called ``the tpic patches.''
Happily, those days are no more, and you can now use ``gpic,'' the Gnu
version of pic that already supports TeX. You can get this from
prep.ai.mit.edu from u2/emacs/groff-0.3.tar.Z (get the patch file too)
as part of the Groff (gnu version of ditroff).
I think gpic supports full pic V2 files and some extensions as well.
