Here's my problem. I have a file, shiver.dvi, that is 3 signs with a few words in a large font and thick black borders. I'm using dvips 4.2 with an Apple LaserWriter II (no NTX). I type dvips -t landscape shiver and I get the standard dvips fare, three pages, back to a normal prompt. If I do an lpq, the job goes through the queue, is processed and removed. As far the printer goes, it prints the burst page for the job, the little 'in-use' light starts blinking, and - That's all. The light blinks for at least 15 mins, and its not that complex of a picture. Anybody had any similar problems? - Lee -- /~~~ melvin@ncar.ucar.edu,melvin@snoopy.colorado.edu,melvin@boulder.bitnet ~~~\ | Lee Melvin | _Total Recall_ - Arnold Schwartzenegger, Sharon Stone, ILM, \| | | CGD / NCAR | sci-fi, blood, guts & more - it just doesn't get better! |\ | \___ DISCLAIMER: I'm not a scientist, they just let me play with the Y-MP ___/

You have to use @landscape to get landscape mode. The same goes for the other options - letter, a4, legal. I don't know if this is fixed in version 5.0. -- Erik Rantapaa rantapaa@umn-cs.cs.umn.edu

Well, I don't know if there was a previous local patch here or what, but 'dvips -t landscape' works just fine for most files. Its just every once in a while that something freezes the printer. It does only occur with landscape files, but I think the problem may be with the postscript that dvips produces. Unfortunately I'm not enough of a guru to debug it...
