patm@azure.UUCP (Pat McNamara) (12/05/83)

The Nova presentations on PBS this month should be worth
catching. And for all those yearning for another dose of Hitch-
Hiker's guide, here's your chance. The dates given below are for
our stations here in Oregon, be sure to check local listings...

Dec 6 (Tue) 25 YEARS IN SPACE.
"A quarter of a century ago the first primative Sputnik began
beeping plaintively from orbit and startled the U.S. into a
desperate race for the moon. What have men and women done in
space up to now and what may we expect?"
(Oregon note: No Sunday repeat on this one)

Dec 17 (Tue) NUCLEAR STRATEGY FOR BEGINNERS
"The danger of nuclear warfare is the greatest problem facing
mankind today. Nova investigates the origins and the dilemmas
	 of the continuing weapons crisis."

Dec 20 (Tue) FIRE OR ICE: THE CLIMATE CRISIS
"The 'greenhouse effect' and its relationship with earth's
surface and the lower layers of the atmosphere."

Also returning (at long last) is the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The first episode leaps into livingrooms in Oregon on Thursday Dec 22nd
with subsequent episodes to follow on successive weeknights.
