Hi folks, I just bought a used Apollo DN 320 ( no hissing it was CHEAP! ) and I want to run TeX on it. So I went to labrea.stanford.edu and got tex82.tar.Z.a[a-q] un-tar'ed an un-copress'ed it when I found the note to Apollo owners in README.APOLLO that a hacked version for DOMAIN IX 9.7 running Berkeley 4.2 was available with a dviapollo program to preview dvi files. Great I said that is just my system exactly! Wow isn't the internet great. The instructions said 1) get the unix tape from june.cs.washington.edu. So I anonymous ftp there last night and to my horor couldn't find makefiles, READMEs or anything, not even the dviapollo stuff. Hmmm... So now I want to know where a modified tex82 can be gotten (of course I would settle for a tex3.0 but probably noone ports to these ancient Apollos anymore :-( ). Also tapes won't help much as I have 8" floppies ( No Smirking out there!!! ). Obviously an ftp site would be best but if necessary I have access to qic 150 format Sun compatible tape drives and can suck things off that machine serially. Oh, also this needs to be cheap enough that a starving grad student in physics can afford -- i.e. I can spend late night porting software but cant part with $$. Thanks in advance.
