[comp.text.tex] Imagen umd-dvi sofware on RISC ULTRIX

barrett@jhunix.HCF.JHU.EDU (Dan Barrett) (07/14/90)

I've been trying to install the University of Maryland's "umd-dvi"
software for converting from DVI to Imagen format. It works fine on our
VAX (Ultrix 2.0), but not on our DECstation 3100 (Ultrix 3.1D) RISC machine.

Has anybody successfully installed this software on a DEC RISC
machine and gotten it to work? Everything compiles without error, but
the files created by "imagen1", when run on identical DVI files on our
VAX and a DECstation 3100, are NOT IDENTICAL; and the RISC version prints
garbage on our Imagen.

Please send any suggestions by E-MAIL only, since I do not
read this newsgroup. Our version of TeX is 2.95.

                                                        Dan
