I have always been unhappy with some of the style decisions made by the designer of BiBTeX. Currently I use BiBTeX to create a bibliography file and then make extensive changes to it to correct these inconsistencies in style (such as sometimes representing pages by "pages" and sometimes by "pp."). Is it possible that there is an easy way to customize the way these entries come out every time? -- William J. Schmidt Iowa State University schmidt@atanasoff.cs.iastate.edu

Huh? How are you generating the page number entries in your bib files? I use pages = "34--55" and my page number entries come out consistent all the time. >Is it possible that there is an easy way to customize the >way these entries come out every time? Yep. It's called the Bibliography style file. The documentation for these things is stored in the file btxhak.tex (if you don't have a copy locally, you can FTP it from ymir.claremont.edu in [anonymous.tex.sources.bibtex0_99] -dh --- Don Hosek TeX, LaTeX, and Metafont Consulting and dhosek@ymir.claremont.edu production work.
