Is there a public domain MetaFont v2.0 available? ---- I have Public Metafont and EMMF for MetaFont v1.7. I am trying to print the GNU doc files for Make, AWK, and INDENT. I need several files at different magsteps and point sizes. For instance, cmtt10 and cmb10 I need at 13pt and cmss10, cmsl10, cmtt10, cmr10 I need at magstephalf. To get the 13pt fonts from 10pt fonts, I think I 'mag=1.3' and to get magstephalf I 'mag= magstep 0.5'. However, when I print the results on my HP LaserJet II the fonts aren't the correct size. It is very possible I dont have MetaFont setup correctly as I didn't get the doc files with either and have been trying things out. For one thing when I 'inimf plain \dump' I get a plain.pba file for Public Metafont. However, when I then run mf I can't file the plain.pba file. Can someone direct me on how to setup both Public MetaFont and EMMF. I would rather EMMF as that gives graphic output. Also, when I do the following '\mode=localfont; mag=xxx; input xxx' the font generation takes about 45 minutes. When I don't include '\mode=xxx' the font generation takes 2+ hours. Why? thanks, albert chin ... mthvax!mamia!albert
