SPACEPAC, the L-5 society's political action committee has alerted L-5 members to an upcoming Presidential decision; the most significant one since Kennedy committed the nation to a manned landing on the moon. Apparently, in Reagan's cabinet there is serious debate whether to commit to a manned space station, or even a station and a permanent lunar base. In the mailgram I received, Mark M. Hopkins, L-5's Legislative Action Coordinator calls upon all of those who favor such developments to write five letters in support. These letters will probably not be read, but only counted -- so they can be as short as one line. Send them to: President Ronald Reagan The White House Washington DC 20500 The Honorable Malcolm Baldridge Secretary of Commerce Washington DC 20230 The Honorable William French Smith Attorney General 10th and Constitution Ave. NW Washington DC 20530 The Honorable William Clark Secretary of the Interior 18th and C Sts.
