Does anyone have a program that can convert a .dvi file into a raw 0/1 raster file, given a specification of the number of dots per inch? I found a program called DVIRAS which turned out to be to create Sun raster file format. It also uses lots of the Sun library which I do not have, so that program is useless. --Phil Howard, KA9WGN-- | Individual CHOICE is fundamental to a free society <phil@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu> | no matter what the particular issue is all about.

It might be feasible to use a dvi driver for a raster-oriented device, eg. an HP ThinkJet, and use a corresponding {device}2pbm program to convert to pbm format, which is 1s and 0s with a width, height header. Since the graphics escape sequences for HP printers, it's likely that dvitj | lj2pbm will produce a sensible output.
