I have a document using the report style in which I want to place figures. The figures will be cross-referenced with \label{key}, placed after a \caption{} command. With the \caption{} command the figure will be labelled with something like figure 1.1 or the like. The problem here is that the \caption command also makes an entry into the list of figures, something that I don't want to happen all the time. My question is whether there is a way of allowing a simple figure title like that above without to be used without the lof file being added to? Thanks in advance. ascott@gara.une.oz.au
