[comp.text.tex] fonts suitable for use with dot matrix printers

shankar@are.berkeley.edu (Shankar Subramanian) (08/04/90)

The output one gets with a dot matrix printer using the CM fonts is
suitable only for previewing. One of the advantages of other word
processing packages such as WordPerfect is that they produce decent output
on a dot matrix printer and high-quality output on a laser printer, even
with equations and mathematical symbols. I've tried using \verbatim,
but that doesn't look that great. Any suggestions?
