Last I heard, the DARPA funded VorTeX project was charging about $600 for a
site license and required signing an extensive legalese document (e.g. you
_can't_ redistribute, no guarantees, no support provided, etc.) before
they'd ship a tape. (At last, the disadvantages of an unpopular public
domain package, spotty or no support, combined with the price of a
commercial package. ;-) What are the current details?

_If_ VorTeX is now redistributable:

Does anyone know of a mail archive server for the VorTeX macros, et al?

Does the graphics interface now work under X11r4? (Last I heard it was X10
based.) If so, is it fairly reliable? (Last I heard it was prone to core
dumps.)

Is $600 for tape duplication just a teeny bit high for a project I've
already funded by paying taxes, or is it just me? :-)

\include{std_disclaimer.tex}

	Thanks in advance,

The rules haven't changed. The only thing that's free are the GNU
emacs macros. One more time that the FSF "virus" license works in
your favor.

Not that I've heard of, unless you do the bizarre BITNET route. I
could be persuaded to mail it to you, but it's pretty big.

It's still X10 based.
