I have a nice set of TeX tools, release 3.0 of TeX, LaTeX with the new font selection mechanism (with the adaptions by Sebastian Rahtz for PostScript font families), Dirk Grunwalds Xtex and Tomas Rokickis dvips. While they all work nicely together using the Computer modern fonts they do not do so with PostScript fonts. What chance of some cooperation between the LaTeX developers, the previewer and the printer driver developers to come to some common naming scheme for fonts, preferably the same as the X11 font naming scheme. Then we could use the X window fonts for previewers and be sure that the final copy would look the same as the screen preview. -- Colin Walls | Janet: Colin@uk.ac.umist UMIST, Manchester | DARPA: Colin@umist.ac.uk ENGLAND. | Uucp: ukc!umist.ac.uk!Colin Tel. +44-61-200-3540 | "I have seen old ships sail like swans asleep"
