A friend of mine has a little problem with the following LaTeX file and I can't see/find the error, too. Here is the file: \documentstyle[11pt]{report} \begin{document} \fbox{ \begin{verbatim} there is something wrong \end{verbatim} } \end{document} And LaTeX produces the following output: sunbode3-2.208% latex test.tex This is MHTeX, C Version 2.95 (multiple hyphenation) (no format preloaded) (test.tex LaTeX Version 2.09 <4 Aug 1988> (/usr/lib/tex/inputs/report.sty Document Style `report'. Modified at TUW, 23 Mar 88 (/usr/lib/tex/inputs/rep11.sty) (/usr/lib/tex/inputs/titlepage.sty)) (test.aux) LaTeX error. See LaTeX manual for explanation. Type H <return> for immediate help. ! Something's wrong--perhaps a missing \item. \@latexerr ...for immediate help.}\errmessage {#1} \addpenalty ...kipb \fi \fi \fi \else \@noitemerr \fi \@item ...tem \else \addpenalty \@beginparpenalty \addvspace \@topsep \addvs... \@verbatim ->\trivlist \item [] \if@minipage \else \vskip \parskip \fi \lefts... \verbatim ->\@verbatim \frenchspacing \@vobeyspaces \@xverbatim <argument> \begin {verbatim} there is something wrong \end {verbatim} \fbox #1->\leavevmode \setbox \@tempboxa \hbox {#1 }\@tempdima \fboxrule \adv... l.7 } ? Now my question is: How can I surround/avoid this problem? Has anyone a god idea/solution? -- Christian Kasperbauer (Kasperl): / relay.cs.net (CS-NET, ARPA) kasperba%lan.informatik.tu-muenchen.dbp.de@ - unido.uucp (UUCP)
