Hello,
I'm interested in using the psfig macro to incorporate
Mac applications into my latex documents. I am following
the psfig manual by the book. However, I am having the
following problem. Before I do this, I'll describe the
sequence of operations that I am following:
(1) Generate Mac application. In my case, I am using
CricketGraph to generate a X-Y plot.
(2) Select laserwriter in the chooser.
(3) Send document to print.
(4) Right after clicking OK, I press clover-k. This should
generate for me a Laserprep file, together with the
postscript code for the figure.
PROBLEM #1: Both clover-k and clover-f give me the
same file, as cmp confirms. The manual says they
should be different.
(5) I ftp the clover-k file over to my SUN account,
invoke the psfig macro with \input psfig,
and call the figure in with \psfig{figure=foo.ps}
(6) Latex doesn't complain about all this, but when I
send the document to print after conversion to ps,
it doesn't print. I get mail messages from the laser
printer about some offending ps commands that kill
the job.
I am sure the absence of the laserprep file is what's causing
the screwup. This may be a problem with the way the mac servers
are set up at my school. Is there anyone out there who has had
similar problems, or could offer some help ?
I'd be much obliged.
