Here is another never ending question from a learning TeX-User. In LaTeX floating objects (figures and tables) can be controlled via the [htbp] obtions. However, there are many situations where figures are placed at the end of a text although the option [h] was given. 1) Is there a possibility to force a figure to appear at a specific point in a text? (It has to be a figure or table environment, because the captions are needed for the table of figures or tables.) 2) What are the algorithms that actually place a floating object? What can be achieved by using \textfraction?
