[comp.text.tex] Simple LaTeX introduction?

fwp1@CC.MsState.Edu (Frank Peters) (09/29/90)

Hello,

I've recently installed TeX 3.0 on our Sun systems. I also have a
very good 'Gentle Introduction to TeX' by Michael Doob at the
University of Manitoba.

I would like to learn just enough LaTeX to be able to create
relatively simple documents.

Is there by any chance a similarly simple introduction to LaTeX?

Thanks
FWP

The TeX Users Group has a few including An Introduction to LaTeX
(or somesuch) by Michael Urban and LaTeX for Scientists &
Engineers (I forget the author... sigh). They can be reached at

There also is the free Essential LaTeX by John Warbrick available
